This is made based on JIS A 1221 and is applicable to all soil layers excluding gravel as an auxiliary method for standard penetration tests.
- A load of 100 kg is applied to a rod with a screw point, and the number of rotations (half turns) per penetration amount is determined. It is said to have a good correlation with standard penetration tests. - The test results also have a data sheet, and the condition of the soil can be clearly displayed through test tables and illustrations. There is an increasing trend of its use in soil location surveys.
